We were in search of a local training facility that would be able to help us with our very smart and very easily distracted pup, Jack. After our initial research into Clever Canine we went in for a free evaluation and decided to try the accelerated obedience program they offer. In addition, we signed up for 5 days of the "Stay and Play" doggie day care. In his first 3 weeks of training, he's a new pup. He's always been good with his commands but he's gotten much better with distractions and he's learned quite a few new ones as well. And we're almost at what I thought would be an impossible break-through...loose leash walking! Every day after daycare he came home DOG tired but was noticeably better with his commands. He gets SO excited to go in the morning and on days he stays home, he whines in the hallway because he wants to go see all his human and fur friends. It's very evident that the staff at Clever Canine shows him love, attention, and reinforces positive behaviors we want at home. This dog dad is insanely thankful for Clever Canine and their amazing staff.
Questions About Group Classes?
What if my dog is reactive or aggressive around other dogs?
We get this question a lot. Group classes work best for dogs who can be in the same space as other dogs without causing harm. If your dog has significant reactivity or aggression issues, we recommend starting with private training first to build foundational skills in a controlled environment. After a few private sessions, many reactive dogs successfully transition to group classes.
How big are the classes?
We intentionally keep our classes small—typically 6-8 dogs maximum. This ensures every dog gets individual attention and you're not just lost in a crowd. You'll actually get hands-on guidance, not just watch a demonstration.
What if I miss a class?
Life happens. We understand. While we don't offer refunds for missed classes, we do our best to catch you up at the next session or provide guidance to practice at home. Consistency is key, so we encourage attending all sessions when possible.
Do I need any special equipment?
Just bring your dog, a regular 6-foot leash, and high-value treats your dog loves. We'll let you know if your specific class requires anything additional, but we keep it simple—no need to buy expensive gear before you start.
What's your refund policy?
We offer a full refund if you cancel before the first class begins. After the first session, we don't offer refunds, but we'll work with you to find solutions if the class isn't the right fit. Our goal is your success, not just your payment.
