He has to learn to love the whole wide world — and learn how to sit, too.
It would also be great if he wouldn’t chew your shoes — or eat your reading glasses.

THE AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO GET DOG OWNERS AND THEIR PUPPIES OFF TO A GOOD START
Experienced dog owners can tell you that early training is one of the best ways to socialize your puppy during this important time of adjustment and development.
Training can typically start as soon as soon as your puppy has completed the second round of vaccines (with the approval of your veterinarian), which can be as early as eight weeks.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy (Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility) is the perfect place to start.
Puppies are the best, but they take a LOT of work and a LOT of patience!
It’s never too early to start training!
The earlier you start, the more likely you’ll raise a well-mannered, loyal, happy dog.
Our program is appropriate for puppies of all breeds under 6 months old.
The AKC STAR Puppy Training group class is a great way to get started with training your dog(s) for the foundations of a well-rounded and well-behaved dog.
It’s a great place to start especially if you've never raised a puppy or it's been a long time since you have.
You can teach an old dog new tricks, but it’s a lot easier to establish good manners and habits now while your puppy is young and impressionable.
We’ll work on obedience basics while also addressing some of the less adorable aspects of having a puppy: all the biting, barking, chewing, peeing, and excess energy.
And we’ll work to avoid pesky future problems like jumping and pulling.
Add in plenty of socialization to avoid more serious ones like fear and aggression, and you’ve got a great puppy class.
Oh, and we’ll have tons of fun, too!

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy will teach you the foundation your puppy needs for basic skills such as sit, down and come. It will also provide the opportunity to socialize with other puppies and people. You will learn about the issues that most people experience with a new puppy, such as learning its name, hyperactivity, mouthing/nipping, housebreaking, and leash walking.
People don’t believe how fast and easy it is to stop unwanted behavior in puppies, but after years of training dogs, we’ve perfected our method so that ANYONE can learn and apply it quickly. EVEN if you’ve never trained a puppy before, and EVEN if you’ve tried and failed!

Cost - $249.00
- 6 Weekly Sessions
- Each Class is 50 minutes
- Class held at our Waterford location (Dixie Hwy & Sashabaw Rd)

For puppies up to 6 months of age Any Breed and any size.

It includes early, basic foundational obedience as well as socialization.

Puppies that attend a minimum of 6 classes are eligible to take the AKC Star Puppy assessment.

Those that pass the assessment will earn their STAR Puppy certification once they submit their completed test form and fee to the AKC.

Puppies must be friendly around strangers and other dogs.
